    Coronavirus gets worse as US, Europe and India top cases

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 423 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, bringing all time cases to 250,  009.

    But out of the 250, 009  total cases,  221,  203 patients have been treated and discharged, while 3, 092 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 25, 714 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic.

    NCDC: 423 new cases of COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 120,  Rivers – 118,  Anambra – 38, FCT- 32,  Gombe- 31,  Kaduna – 21,  Oyo- 14, Benue – 11,  Cross River – 10,  Kwara – 9,  Borno – 5, Kano – 5,  Bauchi – 3, Jigawa – 3,  Abia – 1,  Ogun – 1, Sokoto -1:  250, 009 confirmed;  221, 203 discharged; 3, 092 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 319, 148, 992 total cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 5, 519, 002  patients are no more, while 9, 550, 581, 997 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 63,830, 801 total cases of infections, while 846,  058 patients could not make it alive(1,103, 757 new and 2434 deaths#), followed by India, which has documented 36,317,927 all time cases and 485, 035  deaths(247, 417 new and 380 deaths#) and Brazil, now reporting 22,724,232  total cases of infections, while 620, 641 patients could not make it alive(87, 873 new and 134 deaths#).

    The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 15, 064, 185  total cases of infections and 151, 831 deaths(107, 321 new and 338 deaths#) and France which has registered 13, 348, 116  all time cases, while 127, 519 patients could not make it alive(305, 513 new and 225 deaths#) and Russia, which has documented 10, 541, 870  all time cases, while 312,733  lives are no more(20, 972 new and 723 deaths#).

    Turkey is the 7th country most hit by the pandemic with 10, 197, 606 total cases, while 84, 125 patients could not survive the onslaught(77, 722 new and 145#), followed by Italy, now reporting 8, 155, 645  total cases, while 140,188  patients are no more(184, 577 and 316 deaths#) and Spain with 7, 930, 528 all time cases, while 90, 620  lives could not survive the pandemic(338, 286 new and 237 deaths#).

    Germany has come down as the 10th country most hit, reporting 7, 805, 161 total cases of infections, while 115,172  lives are no more(212, 919 new and 299 deaths#) and South Africa, which has reported 3, 546, 808 all time cases and 92, 989 deaths(5917 new and 159 deaths#) .
