LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 49 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 165,901.
But out of the 165,901 confirmed cases, 156,459 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,067 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7375 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-21, Rivers-16, FCT-5, Kano-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Ebonyi-1 and Ekiti-1, the NCDC has announced.
“NCDC@NCDC gov 49 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-21, Rivers-16, FCT-5, Kano-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Ebonyi-1 and Ekiti-1: 165,901 confirmed; 156,459 discharged; 2,067 death”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 165,091, 142 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3, 421, 514 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 1, 563, 181, 519 doses of vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 33,050, 952 confirmed cases, while 588, 443 patients have passed on(31, 133 new and 700 deaths*), followed by India, which has reported 25, 772, 440 confirmed cases, while 287, 122 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(276, 110 new and 3874 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 15, 812, 055 all time cases, while 441, 691 patients are no more(79, 219 new and 2641 deaths*).
France remains the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 979, 093 all time infections, while 108, 343 patients are already dead(450 new and 1 death*), followed by Turkey which has reported 5,160, 423 all time cases, while 45, 626 lives are no more(9385 new and 207 deaths*) and Russia which has documented 4, 917, 906 confirmations, while 115, 393 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic(9112 new and 390 deaths*).
The United Kingdom comes in as the 7th country most hit, now reporting 4, 471, 061 all time infections while 127, 963 patients have been killed by the Coronavirus pandemic(2706 new and 7 deaths*) and Italy which has registered 4, 178, 261 all time cases, while 124, 810 lives are no more(5736 new and 164 deaths*) and Germany which has documented 3, 638, 504 confirmations and 86, 999 patients are already dead(10, 754 new and 250 deaths*).
Spain has come up as the 10th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 631, 661 all time cases, while 79, 601 patients have passed on(5733 new and 33 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1, 625,003 all time infections, while 55, 568 others are already dead(3641 new and 61 deaths*).
