    Coronavirus: Cases triple in Nigeria as 1575 die in USA

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed  1368 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic bringing all time cases in the country to 225, 255.

    But out of the 225, 255 confirmed cases,  211, 660 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 985 patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 610 active cases,  no new deaths.

    NCDC: 1368 new cases of COVID19Nigeria: Lagos, 844,  FCT – 209,  Oyo- 58,  Abia – 51,  Ondo – 39, Ogun – 30, Kaduna – 26,  Delta -20,  Akwa Ibom – 17, Osun – 15,  Ekiti – 12,  Anambra -7,  Zamfara – 7, Cross River – 6,  Kano – 6, Kwara – 6,  Rivers – 6,  Bauchi – 5, Gombe -3, Plateau – 1;  225, 255 confirmed; 211, 660 discharged;  2, 985 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 275, 472,519 cumulative cases of Coronavirus pandemic, worldwide, 5, 361,463 patients have passed on while 8,729, 088,209 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 51, 100,782 confirmed cases, while 807,952 patients have perished(273, 860 new and 1575 deaths#), followed by India, which has documented 34,752,164 all time cases,  while 478, 007 patients are no more(11, 889 new and 585 deaths#) and Brazil, which has registered 22, 215,856 total cases and 617, 873 deaths(3513 new and 119 deaths#).

    The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 11, 518, 255 total cases of infections, while 147,723 patients have died from the virus(92, 599 new 44 deaths#), followed by Russia, which has documented 10, 064,290 total cases of infections, while 292, 331 patients are no more(26, 744 new and 995 deaths#) and Turkey now reporting 9, 191,851 total cases, while 80, 581 lives have perished(18, 762 new and 166 deaths#).

    France is the 7th country most hit, with 8, 745, 272 total cases of infections and 122, 702 deaths(15, 132 new and 224 deaths#), followed by Germany with 6, 834, 488  infections, while 108, 818 patients have kicked the bucket(21, 742 new and 533 deaths#) and Iran which has documented 6, 173,369 total cases of infections and 131,124 deaths(2390 new 41 deaths#).

    Argentina remains the 10th country most hit, reporting 5, 395,044 infections and 116,930 deaths(8591 new and 31 deaths#) and South Africa which has recorded 3, 316, 585 total infections and 90, 453 deaths(8, 511 new and 105 deaths#).
