    BOKO HARAM: BENIN TO DEPLOY 150 TROOPS

    Nigeria, March 15, 2016 – Benin Republic today announced its readiness to deploy 150 military troops to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), a regional military cooperation established by Nigeria with some neighbouring African nations to fight Boko Haram insurgent.

    Benin will deploy the troops by April.

    A statement signed by the Deputy Director Army Public Relations, DDAPR, Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF, Colonel Mohammed Dole stated that Cameroon, Chad and Niger Republic have already sent their troops since late 2015 to join the Nigerian forces at Njeimana.

    The first batch of 150 military personnel will be deployed in Ndjamena, HQ MNJTF before the end of April 2016, while the remaining batches will be airlifted subsequently to meet up with 750 troops expected from Benin Republic.
