IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – A blind comedian, Kelly Igberhi, popularly known as Kelly Blind, has called on the Inspector General of Police, and the Lagos State Government to come to his aid, over the demolition of his 28 million Naira house allegedly by the Lagos State Task Force.




Mr. Igberhi made the call, while sharing his ordeal with our correspondent in Lagos. The comedian, who wore a sad face, said July 25 would forever remain a black day for him and his family, as the entire neighborhood woke up to the shock of the demolition.

According to him, his building, a detached bungalow, which he spent all his life savings to build, was demolished without him recovering anything.

Mr. Igberhi explained that all due process was followed when he acquired the land on second of June 2016 from the original owners who inherited it from their ancestors before proceeding to build.

Kelly Blind had since approached a Lagos High Court in company of other landlords of Glorious Villa Estate, in Awoyaya Area of Ibeju- Lekki, to seek justice over the illegal demolition of their houses.

Counsel to all the landlords in the state, Mr. Ike Nzetah, said about eight hundred houses situated on a land measuring over two hundred hectares were demolished by Skye Trustees in association with mobile policemen from the Lagos State Task Force. The Lagos State Task Force is situated in the Ministry of Environment.
