MINNEAPOLIS – The family of Daunte Wright have secured the services of nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump and Co-counsel, Jeff Storms in the quest for justice for their departed son and father.

Daunte Wright(20) was killed by a Brooklyn Centre  female police officer on  April 11, 2021 just few miles from where fired police officer, Derek Chauvin is on trial for killing George Floyd in Minneapolis.

According to Ben Crump, Wright was stopped by police officer on April 11, 2021 for a minor traffic violation.  Police detained and killed  him as he was trying to get away.

“Bodycam footage from the incident showed that  the female officer that fired the fatal shot was intending to fire  her taser, but instead fired her  gun – killing Wright”, he said.

In his statement on the incident, Crump said Daunte is yet another young black man killed at the hands of those who have sworn to protect  and serve all of us – not just the whitest among us.

“As Minneapolis and the rest of the country continue to deal with the tragic killing of George Floyd, now we must also mourn  the loss of this young man and father”, he said, stressing that the “level of lethal force was entirely preventable and inhuman.

“What will it take for law  enforcement to stop killing people of color? He queried, noting that the growing number of  black  men and women who have been killed or harmed by the police is far too hefty a price for the equality we are seeking”.

“We join Daunte famly  in demanding justice for him and holding those responsible for his death accountable”.
