LAGOS – Unprecedented fear and apprehension now reign across major U.S. allies across the Middle East following the air strikes carried out by the United States of America on the three nuclear power facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, all in Iran.
The attacks was carried out by the United States on suspicion by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel that Iran is barely months away from acquiring a nuclear bomb.
Incidentally, this has been the position of Netanyahu in the past thirty years despite a fathwa by the Supreme Leader of Iran on production of Nuclear bomb.
Bedsides, Iran has signed on to the Nuclear non-Proliferation Treaty, NPT and seems to have upheld provisions of the Treaty.
More worrisome is the fact that the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA said severally that Iran only achieved 60 uranium percent enrichment and that there is no evidence Iran is building a nuclear bomb.
Even the intelligence community in the United States affirmed there is no evidence Iran is making a nuclear bomb. Only President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believe the contrary.
Just as Netanyahu anticipated after much brainwashing, Trump gave the order and using the highly rated and effective B2 Bombers, the three nuclear sites were ‘obliterated’ to quote the exact words of Donald Trump.
To say the list Trump gave the order just as the Foreign Affairs Minister of Iran, Abbas Araghchi was meeting with EU3, just the same way that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave the order to attack Iran in the midst of negotiations.
The attacks infuriated almost everyone in Iran. Both the Supreme Leader of Iran, Sayyed Khamenei and President of Iran, Masoud Pezeskhian vowed retaliation in the most painful manner.
‘We neither initiated this war nor wanted it, but we will never leave any aggression against Iran unanswered.
“We will stand by the security of this dear nation with all our being, and respond to every wound on Iran’s body with faith, wisdom, and determination. God is our protector”, Pezeskhian vowed.
The targets are usually the 40 American bases scattered all over the Middle East.
Anticipating attacks from Iran, President Trump evacuated almost all the bases. But this anticipatory evacuation seems to be way out of line to diffuse the tension that is now palpable in the Middle East.
Already there are May flights cancellations, with some making conscious efforts to avoid the Iranian routes.
The UAE and Qater have closed their airspaces.
Qatar Airways flight QR330 from London turned around before entering Qatar, other planes have turned around too. American, French and British fighter jets were scrambled to the Middle East.
In the middle of this apprehension, Iran fired missiles fired at the United States’ Al Udeid airbase in Qatar as part of Operation Harbinger of Conquest this evening.
What will follow can only be anticipated.
