My position is intact, says Madukaife

ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Chairman of All Progressives Congress APC in Anambra state Chief Basil Ejidike has stated that Mr.Okelo Madukaife was sacked and has ceased to be the party’s publicity secretary since June 2021.
In a reaction, Mr.Okelo Madukaife said his membership and position as the publicity secretary of the party remain protected and intact.
Ejidike who was reacting to a statement credited to Madukaife , where he congratulated Prof Charles Soludo on behalf of APC over the election conducted on 6th and 9th November 2021 said he cannot speak for the party anymore , since he is not a member.
According to Ejidike , mad knife was suspended from the party since June 2021 for anti-party activities and since then he has not been attending the party activities.
He said ” The attention of APC has been drawn to both radio and television news where the sacked publicity secretary of the party Mr Okelo Madukaife congratulated Prof. Charles Soludo on behalf of the party since June 2021. Madukaife has been abusing APC and its officials when sacked and replaced with Barr. Chukwunoso Chinweuba.
“The party enjoined the public to desist from dealing with the former Publicity Secretary on behalf of the party. He can no longer speak for the party, having been sacked since June 2021. Madukaife does not belong to the party now and he cannot speak for the party ” he said.
On the just concluded governorship election, he said that the party cannot associate itself with the monumental fraud witnessed on the 6th and 9th of November in the name of election in the state.
He said that the election that produced Soludo as the governor-elect was fraudulent and skewed to favour APGA. According to him, the party is putting its grounds for the next line of action.
Reacting in a statement , Mr.Okelo Madukaife said his membership and position is protected by the letters and spirit of the 2014 APC Constitution. According his mandate as State Publicity subsists and runs until Anambra State Congresses holds.
He said the similar attempt of usurping the office of the state Publicity Secretary failed in July 2019 and this will still fail. He enjoined the public to discountenance the misdemeanor contained in the misguided statement, which will now be the subject of consultations in the State Working Committee, State Executive Council and the State Caucus.
Madukaife said the party will continue to guard against like Ejidike who traded off their right to democratic choice for a mess of pottage.
“Once again, we join our national leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, our state leader, Sen. Chris Nwabueze Ngige, who Ejidike despises and fights with the support of extraneous elements, as well as all 2021 Governorship aspirants, shortchanged in June 26 primaries to congratulate the State governors – elect, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as we gear up to hold him accountable to Ndi Anambra on his election promises Our congratulations is without prejudice to the right of anyone empowered by law to challenge the outcome of the election in the election tribunal” he said.
