LAGOS, Nigeria – Anambra State chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Kasim Shitima for winning the 2023 general election. The party stated that Tinubu’s emergency as the president was highly commendable having fought gallantly with his Vice President-elect to win.
The chairman of APC in Anambra state Chief Ejidike Basil in a press briefing at the party’s secretariat Awka, described Tinubu victory as divine for greater Nigeria . He said “On behalf Anambra APC, I want to congratulate the president elect and his vice , chairman of the party and all the national working committee for working hard for this success”
According to him, Tinubu’s victory will usher in greater things for the country . He said that by the election , Tinubu will be a good president with his vice Kasim Shitima . He also commended the president of Nigeria, Mohamed Buhari for leaving up to his promise of bequeathing credible election to the nation.
According to him, “You can imagine ,a sitting president losing his state to opposition in a general election ,it is curious”. He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC for giving Nigeria another freest and transparent elections in the country.
According to him, INEC has restored electoral confidence among Nigerians. He also praised the state Police Commissioner CP Echeng Echeng for providing peaceful atmosphere for the voters to come out and cast their votes in the state.
“We commend him so much , we also commend the Director of DSS, and other security operatives who closely worked with the CP for peaceful elections. Without them they could not have been people on the streets to vote” he said .
He said that people had predicted worst things in Anambra state but those predictions did not happened , noting that people moved about freely on the election day .
“The election in the state was free and peaceful” he said. The chairman used the opportunity to appeal to APC members in the state who had left the party for one reason and other to come back move the party forward.
“This is the time to rebuild the party in the state and to further enhance the political fortune of the state . I call on those who left the party for one reason and other to come back. I want to sincerely apologise to those who felt aggrieve to come back to the party. I want to invite everybody back so that we can assist the president elect to build a better Nigeria” he stated.
He also assured all the party members that worked for the successful election of their rewards, noting that by the special grace of God ,the era of people getting appointment anyhow has gone.
