    Your service to the nation is indispensable -Akeredolu

    AKURE, Ondo – The Executive Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN) has disclosed that the services of corps members under present disposition is indispensable. Arakunrin Akeredolu made the disclosure when he declared open the 2021 Batch ‘A’ (Stream 1) orientation course for the corps members deployed to the State.

    “My dear compatriots in the service to our fatherland, you are coming to participate at a critical time in the history of our nation and you should spare no effort to give your very best and ensure that Nigeria returns to the path of glory and international reckoning”.

    He charged the newly sworn in corps members to have a positive outlook to issues affecting the country and continuously strive to contribute meaningfully to all sectors they will be deployed to and endeavour to create a lasting impression which will encourage the populace to support the sustenance of the laudable Scheme.

    The Governor who was represented by the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani promised that by the grace of God and in line with the core mandates of the constitutional provision provide adequate security to members of the service corps.

    The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani who was ably represented by the Camp Director, Mr. Olawuyi Lasisi said that this orientation course is a special one as everyone has to observe all the protocols of COVID -19.

    The State Coordinator said that corps members as well as the entire camp community are expected to use their face mask during all programmes and activities, and ensure that they maintain both physical and social distancing.

    “At the Camp and in line with COVID -19, you will be exposed to series of extra-curricular activities that will make your stay, exciting, rewarding, memorable and fulfilling. These include but not limited to lecture on Tradition and Culture of the Yorubas, Leadership and Citizenship Lecture, Entrepreneurial Training, Parade Drills, Social and Cultural activities, Sports amongst others”.

    The NYSC Chief Executive Officer in Ondo State hinted that orientation course is packaged among other things, to introduce them to the objectives and programmes of the NYSC Scheme, prepare them for the challenges of service and post-service life and to acquaint the members of the service corps with the socio-cultural environment they would be deployed to.

    The Chief Judge of Ondo State who was competently represented by Hon. Justice (Dr.) Oluwafeyisayo Kuteyi administered the Oath of Allegiance on the 986  prospective corps members made up of 467 males and 519 deployed to Ondo State
