    Coronavirus cases decline globally as Nigeria reports 238 cases

    IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 238 new cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 160,895. But out of the 160,895 confirmed cases, 145,752 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,016  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 13, 127 active cases while 3 patients died in the last 24 hours.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-72, Kwara-28, Bauchi-19, Kaduna-19, Edo-17, Ogun-15, Nasarawa-13, Rivers-10, FCT-9, Ondo-8, Akwa Ibom-5, Gombe-5, Niger-5, Osun-5, Plateau-4, Oyo-3 and Kano-1, making a total of 238 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov 238 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-72, Kwara-28, Bauchi-19, Kaduna-19, Edo-17, Ogun-15, Nasarawa-13, Rivers-10, FCT-9, Ondo-8, Akwa Ibom-5, Gombe-5, Niger-5, Osun-5, Plateau-4, Oyo-3 and Kano-1 ; 160,895 confirmed; 145,752 discharged; 2,016 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now over 120 million confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally. In specific terms, there are currently 120, 115, 390 all time cases,  2, 657, 831 patients have lost their lives, while 68,103,875 others have survived the onset. There are currently 49, 353, 684 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most affected country globally, reporting 29, 485, 159  all time cases while 535, 552 lives have been lost in the  US alone(54, 435 new and 742 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has documented 11, 483, 370 all time cases, 278, 229  patients have lost their lives, while 10, 172,214 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Brazil with 1, 032, 927  active cases of Coronavirus(43, 812 new and  1127 deaths*) and India with 11, 385, 339  confirmed cases, 158, 725 patients are already dead, while 11, 007, 352 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 219, 262 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 291 new and 118 deaths*).

    Russia remains the 4th country most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, currently reporting  4, 350,728  confirmations,  90, 958 patients have already lost their lives to the virus, while 3, 958,300 patients  have survived , leaving Russia with 301, 470 active cases of Coronavirus(9347 new and 400 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 276,828 all time cases, 125, 817 patients are already dead, while 11,979 others have been given clean bill of health,  leaving the UK with 4, 139, 032 active cases of Coronavirus(5118 new and 64 deaths*) and France which has reported 4, 132,085  all time infections,  90, 924 patients are already dead, while 280, 563 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 3, 760, 598  active cases of Coronavirus(213 new and 341 deaths*) .

    Italy has come up as the 7th country worst hit by onset of Coronavirus, with  3, 238,394 registered cases,  102, 499 deaths and  2, 605, 538 recoveries, leaving Italy with 530, 357 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 252 new and 354 deaths*), followed by Spain which has recorded 3, 195, 062 all time infections, 72, 424 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries since June 2020, leaving Spain with 2, 972, 262 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 358 new and 294 deaths*) and Turkey which has documented 2, 894, 893 confirmed cases,  29, 552 patients are no more, while  2, 716, 969 others  have survived the pandemic, leaving Turkey with 148, 372 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 503 new and 63 deaths*).

    Germany is still the 10th country most affected, now reporting 2, 585, 369  confirmations, 73, 503 deaths and 2, 369,762 recoveries, leaving Germany with 142, 104 active cases of Coronavirus(6526 new and 78 deaths*) and South Africa, still the 16 country worst hit by the virus,  with 1, 529, 420 all time infections, 51, 421 patients have passed on, while 1,455,325 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 22, 674 active cases of Coronavirus(95 deaths*).
