A NOLLYWOOD legend has shocked fans after revealing his long-suffering wife was not only aware of his affairs with famous co-stars—she even fed them breakfast when they stayed overnight.
Veteran film star Yinka Quadri opened up about his wild love life during a tell-all appearance on the Africanalist Podcast.
The beloved Nigerian actor confessed that several actresses he dated over the years would end up becoming close friends with his wife.
Quadri explained that after late-night movie shoots wrapped up, his showbiz lovers would often spend the night at the couple’s family home.
Instead of causing a scene, his wife welcomed them into the house and made sure they were looked after.
Quadri said: “Sometimes when production ends late, they would sleep in my house.
”And that my wife is aware I am dating them, she would still feed them and everything.”
The actor added that his lovers often got jealous of one another, with some trying to stir up trouble by approaching his wife to gossip about rival actresses he was seeing behind their backs.
”It got to a stage, I won’t mention the ladies’ names in the industry,” Quadri admitted. “They would become friends with my wife and start giving gossip to my wife that I am dating so-and-so in the industry.”
However, his wife refused to take the bait or fight his mistresses.
”And there were some of them that we were dating who went home out of jealousy,” he added. “Meanwhile, my wife would say she was aware already and she doesn’t fight them cause of that.”
Alhaji Akanni Olayinka Quadri, born September 6, 1959, is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated Nollywood actors, directors, and producers. With a career spanning over four decades, he is widely regarded as a cornerstone of the Yoruba-language film sector.
Early Beginnings: He launched his acting career in 1976, co-founding the theater group Isale Eko Boys alongside veteran actor Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo).
Industry Stature: Quadri has starred in and produced over 90 films, earning numerous awards for his versatile roles ranging from traditional chiefs to modern patriarchs.
Cultural Influence: Beyond acting, he serves as the President of the Odunfa Caucus, a prominent Yoruba theater group that has trained and launched the careers of dozens of leading Nigerian actors.
Polygamy and multi-partner relationships have historical roots in traditional Yoruba culture, though modern celebrity dynamics often spark intense public debate.
Quadri’s candid admission offers a rare glimpse into how personal relationships and high-pressure late-night filming schedules intersected in early-to-mid Nollywood culture.
