DORTMUND – Borussia Dortmund will be without forward Karim Adeyemi for several weeks owing to an ankle injury, the Bundesliga club said on Monday.
Dortmund said on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that Adeyemi suffered a partial tear of the syndesmosis in last week’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.
Dortmund said that the 21-year-old will be out of action “for several weeks.”
Adejemi will miss the last Bundesliga match of the year against Mainz on Tuesday and could also not be available for their January 3-9 training camp in Marbella, Spain.
Dortmund’s first match after the winter break is on January 13 at Darmstadt.
Last season’s Bundesliga runners-up Dortmund are fifth in the league, 13 points off the top and six off the Champions League berths.
Also on Monday, they were drawn to play PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League last-16, with the games to take place in February and March.
