BERLIN – The German Football Federation (DFB) has signed new German Cup broadcasting and streaming contracts with international providers and renewed others until 2026 – with more than 40 countries now showing the games.
The DFB said on Tuesday that new contracts have been signed with providers in China, Vietnam and Africa, and deals renewed in India, Indonesia, Italy, Scandinavia, Africa and the Baltics.
No figures were given on how much money the DFB will be generating. The DFB also said it plans to establish a Free-Ad-Supported-Streaming (FAST) channel to make German football content available for a wider international audience.
The new channel DFB Play TV will have live and on-demand content from men’s and women’s German Cup games, the women’s Bundesliga, the men’s third tier and U21, U20 and U19 teams, plus women’s national team home games.
Content is also to be shown via the DFB YouTube channel German Football and various other social media platforms.
