AWKA, Nigeria – The coordinator for Anambra State School Festival Mr Onyedika Chijoke has rated students’ performance high in the ongoing competitions.
Onyedika who spoke with journalists at one of the venues for the competition said that alot of hiding talents are being discovered at various centers.
He said they are surprised at the level of talents in the competitions. He said the both the under 13 and under 17 in the competition have really shown promising talents and commitments.
Onyedika said that each zone will produce eight schools in various categories for state final billed to hold from 21st to 24th June.
Also speaking, the zonal coordinator for Anambra Central, Mr Basil Eze said the school children had really shown talents despite failure to organize the games for a long time. He however, urged schools to put up more efforts in the sporting activities in their various institutions.
Some of the matches played, saw St. Alphonsus Secondary School Nkpor Uno Under 17 girls defeat Community Secondary School Awka North 4 -0.
Rosa Mystical High school , Agulu, girls under 17 defeated Capital City girl 5-0, while Nimo High school defeated Kenneth Dike school 3-1.
