UMUAHIA, Abia – The Labour Party, LP has raised alarm about attempt by the governors of Abia and that of Enugu State to upturn results of the election which the party believes it is winning.
In a statement, Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr. Julius Abore said officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC have been held hostage at gun point and prevented from heading to Umuahia for collation of the results.
The party said based on the results so far, candidate of the LP, Mr. Alex Oti was already leading in all the local governments in the state.
He equally said that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is already falsifying results of the election.
In Enugu State, the LP chairman said the party was already leading in results so far declared in the state but that there are attempts to upturn the result of the election.
He described the governorship and state houses of assembly election held on Saturday as the worst adding that INEC is mismanaging all the gains of the electoral reforms.
