LAGOS – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 159 new cases of COVID19, bringing all time cases in the country to 253, 340.
But out of the 253, 340 confirmed cases, 229, 650 patients have been treated and discharged, while 3, 136 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 20, 554 active cases of COVID19 and zero deaths in the last 24 hours.
“NCDC: 159 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria: Lagos – 57, Yobe – 37, Rivers – 27, FCT – 14, Gombe – 14, Kano – 7, Bayelsa – 1, Ekiti -1, Nasarawa – 1: 253, 340 confirmed; 229, 650 discharged; 3, 136 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
Globally, there are now 381,315,125 total cases of Coronavirus pandemic, 5, 685,892 patients are no more while 9, 956, 048, 723 doses of COVID19 vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 75, 350,359 total infections, while 890, 770 patients have passed on(608, 773 new and 4969 deaths#) and , followed by India, which has reported 41,469, 499 all time cases and 469, 499 deaths(167, 059 new and 4449 deaths#) and Brazil, which has documented 25,634,781 total cases and 628, 356 deaths(274, 134 new and 1206 deaths#).
France has reported 19, 681,231 total cases of COVID19, while 132, 307 patients have given up the ghost(414, 751 new and 370 deaths#), followed by the United Kingdom , now reporting 17, 544,380 all time infections, while 157, 404 patients have passed on(962, 063 new and 1181 deaths#) and Russia, which has registered 11,795,059 all time cases, while 325,321 patients have passed on(124, 693 new and 649 deaths#).
Turkey has come up as the 7th country most hit by COVID19, reporting 11,722,483 total cases, while 87,614 patients have perished (102, 601 new and 198 deaths#), followed by Italy, with 11, 116,422 documented cases and 146,925 deaths(133, 306 new and 427 deaths#) and Spain now with 10, 039, 126 all time infections and 93,633 deaths(77, 873 new and 408 deaths#).
Germany remains the 10th country most hit with 10, 079, 791 all time cases, while 118, 026 lives have been lost to COVID19(182, 946 new and 100, 201 deaths#) and South Africa, now reporting 3, 608,307 total cases and 95, 288 deaths(3085 new and 195 deaths#).
