AWKA, Anambra – The Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) has said it only ordered sit at home on Tuesday in solidarity with incarcerated IPOB, Leader, Nnamdi Kanu who is due to appear in court on Tuesday.
The IPOB leader has been on trial on a 7-count charge of treasonable felony before Justice Binta Nyako-led Federal High Court. The Federal Government has however increased it to a 15-count amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, which will be read to the IPOB leader when he appears in court on Tuesday.
The amended 15-count charge is signed by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, M. B. Abubakar.
The IPOB statement added that the sit-at-home in Biafra land should be total lockdown in solidarity with the Biafra leader.
In a statement by Spokesman of the group, Emmanuel Powerful said there is however no sit at home on January 19th and 20th, adding that IPOB does not want to prolong the suffering of Biafrans.
He said it is the disgruntled elements in Biafra lan d who have been sacked from IPOB in the Diaspora that are promoting the fake sit at home of January 19th and 20.
“18th January 2022 SIT-AT-HOME in Biafra land. TOTAL-LOCK-DOWN. 19 & 20th January 2022 No SIT-AT-HOME in Biafra land”, he said in the statement.
