Coronavirus pandemic: Nigeria reports 209 cases: 103, 445 cases 2508 deaths

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 290 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to  207,  210.

But out of the 207, 210 confirmed cases,  194,  796 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 742 others could not  make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 9, 672 active cases, while 2 patients died in the last 24 hours.

“NCDC: 290 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria;  FCT – 127, Lagos – 45,  Kaduna – 28,  Delta – 18,  Kwara – 17, Plateau – 13,  Zamfara – 10, Rivers – 8,  Imo- 6,  Ekiti – 5,  Nasarawa – 4,  Edo – 3,  Ondo-3,  Awa Ibom – 2, Oyo – 1: 207, 210 confirmed; 194, 796 discharged; 2, 742 deaths”, he said.

There are now 236, 726, 748  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4,833, 545 patients have already lost their lives, while 6, 393, 716,528 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide  based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting  44, 157,  058  confirmed cases, while 710, 168 lives have perished as a result of the virus(103, 445 new and 2508 deaths*), followed by India, which has documented 33, 894, 312  confirmed cases and 449, 856 deaths(22, 431 new and 318 deaths*) and Brazil, which documented 21, 532, 558  all time cases, while 599, 810 patients have perished as a result of the virus(15, 591 new and 451 deaths*).

United Kingdom, the forth most afflicted country has reported 8, 084, 275  confirmed cases and 137, 818 deaths(39, 935 new and 129 deaths*), followed by Russia, which has reported 7, 575, 825  all time cases, while 209, 752 patients have passed on(26, 881 new and 910 deaths*) and Turkey with 7, 357, 306 confirmations, while 65,590 others could not make it alive(29, 989 new and 217 deaths*).

 France has come down as the 7th country worst hit by the virus, reporting  7, 142, 387 all time cases, while 117, 845 patients are no more, followed by  Iran, which has documented 5, 674, 083 confirmed infections, while 122, 012 patients have perished(11, 625 new 233 deaths*)  and Argentina with 5, 264, 305  all time infections, while 115,416 patients have been killed by the pandemic(1086 new and 37 deaths*).

Spain remains the 10th country  most hit, reporting  4, 971, 310  confirmed cases, while 87, 701 lives have been claimed by Coronavirus(1807 new and  1023 deaths*) and South Africa, the most afflicted country in Africa. South Africa has reported  2, 909, 757 total deaths since the outset of the pandemic, while 88, 104 patients have kicked the bucket(989 new and 123 deaths*) .
