LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 138 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 206, 064. But out of the 206, 064 confirmed cases, 193, 893 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 723 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 9448 active cases.

There are now 234,550,093 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4,796, 127 patients have lost their lives, while 6, 281, 950, 310 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 43,653, 269 confirmed cases, while 700, 891 lives have been lost to the pandemic(104, 637 new and 1244 deaths*), followed by India, which has reported 33, 791, 061 all time cases and 448, 573 deaths(24, 354 new and 234 deaths*) and Brazil, which has reported 21, 459,117 all time cases, while 597, 723 lives are gone as a result of the pandemic(33, 044 new and 974 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 7, 907, 999 all time infections and 137, 292 death(29, 532 new and 122 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented 7, 449, 689 all time cases and 205, 297 deaths(24, 632 new and 873 deaths*) and France with 7, 116, 415 confirmed cases and 117,578 deaths(5452 new and 55 deaths*) .
Turkey remains the 7th country most affected by the pandemic with 7, 181, 500 all time cases, while 64, 240 others could not make it alive(27, 973 new and 203 deaths*) , followed by Iran with 5, 611, 700 all time cases, while 120, 880 patients have passed on (10, 135 new and 217 deaths*) and Argentina which has reported 5, 258, 466 confirmed cases, while 115, 225 patients have kicked the bucket(1564 new and 46 deaths*).
Spain has come up as the 10th country most hit, reporting 4, 961, 128 all time cases, while 86, 463 patients are no more and South Africa, the most afflicted country in Africa, now reporting 2, 905, 613 all time infections, while 87, 753 lives have been lost to the Coronavirus pandemic(1306 new and 48 deaths*).
