LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 255 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 204, 456. But out of the 204, 456 confirmed cases, 192, 620 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 677 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 9159  active cases,  while  4 patients have died in the last 24 hours.

“NCDC:  255 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Im0 – 124,  Lagos – 72,  FCT – 36, Rivers – 16, Enugu -6, Kano -1: 204, 456 confirmed;  192,  620 discharged;  2, 677 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 231, 779, 483 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 747,101 patients have passed on while 6,087, 850,328 doses of Coronavirus  vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the  latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 42, 922,436  all time cases, while 687, 984 patients are no more(29, 237 new and 314 deaths*), followed by India with 33, 652,745  all time cases, while 446,918 lives are no more (28, 326 new and  260 deaths*)  and Brazil with 21, 343,304  confirmed cases and 594, 200 deaths(15, 688 new and 537 deaths*).

The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 7, 700, 291 confirmed cases and 136, 528 deaths(33, 001 new and 62 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented  7, 313,112 all time cases and  200, 245 deaths and France with 7, 085, 381 all time cases, while 117,171 patients are no more(22, 015 new and  795 deaths*)and France with 7, 085, 381 confirmed cases while 117,171 patients are now dead(4706 new and  14 deaths*).

Turkey remains the 7th country most hit, reporting  7, 039, 470  all time infections, while 63,166 lives have been wasted(25, 861 new and 228 deaths*), followed by Iran with 5, 533,520 confirmed cases and 119, 360 deaths(13, 792 new and  278 deaths*) and Argentina which has documented  5, 249, 840 all time cases, while 114, 849 patients are now dead as a result of the virus(1327 new and 21 deaths*).

Colombia remains the 10th country most afflicted, reporting 4, 950, 253  all time cases, while 126,102 patients have passed on(1740 new and  34 deaths*) and South Africa, the most afflicted African country. South Africa has documented 2, 896,943 confirmed infections, while 87, 052 lives have been decimated by the pandemic(976 new and 51 deaths*).
