LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 466 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 198, 239. But out of the 198, 239  confirmed cases,  185, 780 patients have been treated and discharged, while  2, 588 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 9871 active cases  while 3 patients died in the last 24 hours.

NCDC: 466 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria;  Lagos – 134,  Rivers – 82,  Edo – 69,  Gombe – 39,  FCT- 32, Kaduna – 21, Plateau – 20, Benue – 19,  Kwara – 17,  Delta – 16, Akwa-Ibom – 10,  Bayelsa – 5, Kano – 2:  198, 239 confirmed; 185, 780 discharged; 2, 588 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 223,610, 652 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4,612,196 patients are already dead, while 5, 623,  173, 649 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered  worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, reporting  40, 748, 119 all time infections, while 656, 412 patients have passed on(175, 488 new cases and 1144 deaths*), followed by India, which has documented 33,174, 954 all time infections and 442, 009 deaths(34, 973 new and 260 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 20, 958, 899 all time cases, while 585, 174  patients have been killed by the pandemic(30, 891 new and 753 deaths*).

The United Kingdom has retained the 4th spot, reporting 7, 201, 970  confirmations, while 134,313 lives have perished as a result of the virus(36, 849 new and 147 deaths*) and Russia with 7, 000, 636 all time infections, while  187,768 patients are no more (18, 008 new and 769 deaths*) and France which has reported 6, 972, 934 all time cases, while 116, 049 lives have been wasted(10, 067 new and 111 deaths*).

Turkey has continued as the 7th country most hit, reporting 6, 590, 384 all time infections and 59, 170 deaths(23, 846 new and 257 deaths*), followed by Iran with 5, 258, 913 all time cases and 113, 380 deaths(21, 114 new and 445 deaths*) and Argentina with 5, 221, 809 all time infections and 113, 282 death(6477 new and 320 deaths*).

Colombia remains the 10th country most hit, reporting 4, 926, 772 all time infections, while 125,529 patients have kicked the bucket (3575 new and 102 deaths*) and South Africa the most afflicted country in Africa, reporting 2, 848, 925 all time infections, while 84, 608 lives have been wasted by the pandemic (5883 new and 281 deaths*).
