WARRI, Nigeria – Niger Delta youths under the auspices of Isoko Youth Worldwide has told the Minister of the Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio in very clear  terms that they stand by the 7 day ultimatum given to him and President Muhammadu Buhari  by Commander of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo(Tompolo) to constitute the board of Niger Delta Development Commission or face the wrath of the youths.

The youths who spoke to Akpabio through President Isoko Youth Worldwide, Comrade Amos Ogbokor-Etaluku said Akpabio must constitute the NDDC board in 7 days after which they cannot guarantee the safety of oil workers in the Niger Delta.

At the meeting which also has in attendance, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Mr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, the youths told Akpabio that it is only a person with high level of greed and selfishness that would use only one person to run a board  which should be run by Chairman and nine commissioners and in the process sidelining other states.

“…Hon minister,  I must be very frank with you, that we are very, very angry with you in the sense that it is only someone that demonstrates high level of greed and selfishness that will use only one person to run NDDC, a commission that has 9 commissioners, that will use only one person to run a commission and sideline other states.

“We we stand with GOC, Tompolo on the 7 day ultimatum, to constitute the board, after which we cannot guarantee the safety of oil workers in the Niger Delta Region”, the youth told the Akpabio during the meeting. Watch the explosive video HERE.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered forensic audit of the NDDC from 2001 to date following allegations of fraud and lack of development of the region after several billions invested in the commission. The President ordered the Forensic Audit October 17, 2019.

Since then, it has been one excuse or the order, the board appointed by the President put in abeyance. The governors of the region have equally bared their minds on the use of sole administrator to run the agency and it seems things will continue like this until the end of  the Buhari administration, forcing the youths to speak out.
