LEKKI, Lagos – Nigerians have continued to defy notice from the Lagos State Government warning that they run the risk of arrest and tried with an option of N50,000 fine upon conviction.

Such notices have been strategically positioned by the Lagos State Government at bus stops where there are pedestrian bridges to stop Nigerians from crossing the road on foot at the risk of being knocked down by a fast moving vehicle or slowing down traffic in the process of crossing the road.

Our reporter who watched the development at Elf Bus stop on the ever busy Lekki-Epe Expressway found that 99 percent of people crossing the road ignore the nearby pedestrian bridge and prefer to dash across the busy traffic irrespective of the risk involved to their lives and motorists plying the axis.
