LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 226 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 6401.
But out of the 6401 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 1734 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 192 others passsed on.
However, a breakdown of the 226 new cases of the pandemic shows that 131 were found in in Lagos, 25 in Ogun State, 15 in Plateau, 11 in Edo, 7 in Kaduna, 6 in Oyo, 5 in Abuja, 5 in Adamawa, 4 in Jigawa, 4 in Ebonyi, 4 in Borno, 3 in Nasarawa, 2 in Bauchi, 2 in Gombe, 1 in Enugu and 1 case in Bayelsa.

Globally, there are currently 4, 881, 619 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 322, 457 patients have died based on statistics from Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States still leads among the most affected nation in terms of population affected and the total number of deaths.
The US currently has 1, 524, 156 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 91, 661 people have passed on, followed by Russia, which is now the most affected nation in Europe based on the total number affected. Russia has reported 299, 941 confirmed cases of the pandemic, with 2, 837 deaths.
Next is Brazil, which now has 265, 896 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 17, 840 deaths, followed by United Kingdom, which has reported 250, 138 confirmed cases of the virus, while 35, 522 patients have passed on. Next is Spain with 232,037confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 27, 778 patients have died.
Italy is next with 226, 699 confirmed cases of the pandemic, while 32, 169 patients could not survive the ailment. China, noted as the origin of the Coronavirus of pandemic has a total of 84, 063 confirmed cases of the pandemic, 4, 638 deaths, while 79, 310 patients have passed on, leaving China with 115 cases, up by 6 new cases from the last count.
