ONTISHA, Anambra, Nigeria – The immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo has called on government and wealthy individuals in the country to prioritize provision of food, water supply, security and power to Nigerians as a result of the lockdown following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the provision of these necessities would help to cushion the hardship Nigerians are passing through as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ozigbo gave the advice in a statement signed by Izuchukwu Oraelosi, the General Manager of Chineto Ozigbo Foundation on Thursday in Awka, Anambra state capital.
Ozigbo, a guber aspirant for the Anambra state 2021 elections said he had through his foundation, Chineto Ozigbo Foundation, made interventions worth more than N20 million in providing thousands of bags of rice, thousands of hand sanitizers, face masks, and education materials in over 60 communities in the southeastern state.

“Through these programmes and our participation in other COVID-19 intervention projects, we are touching lives of over 100,000 people in my home state of Anambra,” he said .
He also called on all well to do individuals in Anambra and across Nigeria to be more generous in this critical time and help those who need help, stressing that government cannot not do it alone.
“COVID-19 is a global pandemic in which two million people have been infected. Authorities have confirmed over 400 patients in the country and twelve deaths. Several states, including Anambra, Lagos, Delta, Ekiti, Ondo, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna are under lockdown to contain the spread of the virus” he said.
