Hamas hails Hezbollah on ceasefire in Lebanon, commits to earlier concord on cessation of hostilities in Gaza

GAZA, Palestine – The Islamic Resistant in Gaza, Hamas has congratulated Hezbollah for the historic ceasefire in Lebanon.

In statement, Spokesman of Hamas, Abu Obeida said Hamas is focused on ending the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip against Palestinians based on the national parameters agreed upon for a ceasefire.

For him, the agreed parameters include full ceasefire, the withdrawal of all occupying forces. the return of the displaced and completion of a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal.

He said Hamas is focused on ending the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip and thanked Hezbollah for their support in the war against Israeli Occupation Forces.

“We commend the central role played by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon in supporting Gaza and the Palestinian resistance, showing the large sacrifices made by Hezbollah and its leadership, particularly by martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

“Israel’s acceptance of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, without meeting the conditions it had set, marks an important step in breaking Netanyahu’s illusions of reshaping the Middle East through force and his misguided notion of defeating or disarming the resistance forces” Hamas said.

This agreement, the group noted would not have been possible without the steadfastness of the resistance and the support of the people behind it.

“They expressed confidence that the Resistance Axis will continue to back their people and support their struggle by all available means.

“We are committed to cooperating with any efforts aimed at halting the bloodshed in Gaza.

“We are focused on ending the Zionist aggression against our people based on the national parameters agreed upon for a ceasefire.

“These include a full ceasefire, the withdrawal of all occupying forces, the return of the displaced, and the completion of a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal”.
