ABUJA, Nigeria – The Abuja National Mosque has announced the suspension of five daily congregational and Ju’mah prayers, gatherings and other activities in the National Mosque, Abuja as part of efforts to halt the rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement dated March 23, 2020, the mangement of the mosque said the open space and restaurants attached to the mosque are also to be closed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The management said the closure takes effect immediately until further notice.

“While praying for Allah to protect us from this pandemic and guide us aright, we kindly solicit cooperation and understanding of worshippers, and the general public in this regard”, the statement added.
