ABUJA, Nigeria – First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari and Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu are at war and the war is tearing the family of Garba Shehu and that of the First Lady apart.
The war is so terrible that Aisha Buhari believes that Garba Shehu ought to have resigned. The First Lady is fighting Garba Shehu because she believes that the Presidential aide has switched loyalty from President Buhari to the cabals controlling the Presidency.
Recall that Aisha has been very vociferous after 2015 in saying that the cabals are behind lacklustre performance of her lovely husband, President Muhammadu Buhari.
Aisha Buhari could no longer stomach this cold war hence she was forced to voice it out in a press release she sent to media outfits today.
In a statement titled “Garba Shehu has gone beyond his boundaries”, the First Lady said the task of Garba Shehu as spokes man is to manage the image of the president and all the good work he is executing across the country.
“Rather than face this responsibility squarely, he has shifted his loyalty from the President to others who have no stake in the compact(contract) the President signed with Nigerians on May 29, 2015 and 2019”, Aisha Buhari said, adding that Garba Shehu has presented himself to these Cabal as a willing tool and executioner of their antics.
“We all remember that the Chief Proponent appropriated to himself, a part of the Presidential Villa where he stayed for almost 4 years, and when the time came for him to leave, he orchestrated and invaded my family’s privacy through a video circulated by Mamman Daura’s daughter, Fatima, the public was given the impression that on arrival into the country I was locked out of the Villa by the President. Garba Shehu as Villa Spokesman knows the truth and has the responsibility to set the records straight but because his allegiance is somewhere else and his loyalty misplaced, he deliberately refused to clear the air and speak for Mr. President who appointed him.
“Garba Shehu was privy and part of the plan and its execution,” she said, adding that Garba Shehu needs to know that his antics could no longer be tolerated.
“The latest of his antics is to wage a war on the First family through an orchestrated media campaign of calumny, by sponsoring pseudo accounts to write and defame my children and myself”, Aisha Buhari alleged.
As she puts it, “It has become apparent that trust has broken down between my family and Garba Shehu to the many embarrassment he has caused the President and the First Family”, she said.
