GRENOBLE, France – Brilliant performance by the German women team this evening saw the Super Falcons of Nigeria crashing out of the ongoing 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in France, tagged France 2019.
The Super Falcons stumbled into the group of 16 for the first time in 20 years on technical luck. But luck failed the team today, losing to Germany. The Super Falcons will now be on the next flight to Nigeria.
The crashed out even as President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) took his time to speak with players of theSuper Falcons ahead of important matche on Saturday.
The Super Falcons moved into round of 16 for the first time in history as best losers after finishing third in Group A behind France and Norway.
The Super Falcons had ended their Group A campaign with three points, courtesy 2-0 win over Korea Republic and lost to former champions Norway (3-0) and hosts France (1-0).
