#Nigeria decides: INEC postpones presidential, governorship elections

ABUJA, Nigeria – The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) late last night postponed the presidential and governorship election by one week.

The presidential and National Assembly elections will now hold February 23rd, while the governorship and state houses of assembly election initially scheduled for March 2, will now hold March 9th, 2019.

Briefing journalists in Abuja, INEC chairman, Professor Mahood Yakubu said the elections have to be shifted for logistic reasons to enable the electoral body move materials to designated centres.
