LONDON, UK – The London Metropolitan Police has sacked Police Corporal, Farzad Ahmad of the Met Communications command for breach of professional conduct in respect of honesty and integrity, orders and instructions and duties and responsibilities, the police command has said.




In a statement made available to starconnectmedia, the MET Police noted that at gross misconduct hearing held from November 1-2, the chair of the hearing heard that in December 2015, Ahmed submitted an application to work as a private hire vehicle driver on his rest days.

The application, according to MET police was rejected by PC Ahmed’s line manager, but that despite the rejection, he worked as a private hire vehicle driver between March 2016 and August 2016.

“PC Ahmed was involved in a road traffic collision while at work for the Met, on 23 March 2016. He took sick leave from 24 March 2016 to 19 April 2016. While on sick leave as a police officer, PC Ahmed carried out 19 days work for the private hire company, completing a total of 251 trips”, the police said.

PC Farzad Ahmed of Met Communications Command, answered to allegations that he breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of ‘honesty and integrity’, ‘orders and instructions’ and ‘duties and responsibilities’.

At a gross misconduct hearing held between 1 – 2 November, the chair of the hearing heard that in December 2015, PC Ahmed submitted an application to work as a private hire vehicle driver on his rest days. The application was rejected by PC Ahmed’s line manager. Despite the rejection, he worked as a private hire vehicle driver between March 2016 and August 2016.
