LAGOS, Nigeria – Former aide to Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, ex-president of Nigeria, Reno Omokri has dismissed chances of success in President Muhammadu Buhari’s unilatarily approval of $1 billion for the purchase of arms to defeat the radical sect, Boko Haram.
The former aide of Jonathan who has been very critical of the present government said the President would be embarking on a wild goose chase if he thinks all he needed to defeat the sect is $1billion.
According to him, Boko Haram remains an ideology and that guns can never defeat an ideology but a superior ideology and that the Buhari led government is not different from Boko Haram by failing to build a single school in three years.
Omokri said on his social media page, “I laugh when President Buhari says he wants to spend $1 billion on weapon to defeat Boko Haram.
“Boko Haram is an ideology. Guns can never defeat an ideology. Only a superior ideology can. By not building a single school in 3 years the Buhari FG is not different from Boko Haram”, he said.
