Nigeria, July 7, 2016 – Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia today refuted claims by Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca insinuating that the club has completed all transfer formalities for Chisom Chikatara.
In a statement, Media Officer of the club, Igwe Onouha stated that player Chisom Chilatara remains a bonafide player of Abia Warriors FC, Umuahia, adding that as at the time of this publication, Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca are yet to fulfil the transfer requirements of player Chisom Chikatara from Abia Warriors FC to Wydad.
“Whereas Wydad claimed on its website that the transfer money of Chisom Chikatara from our club to theirs “was successful after the club presented the certificate of transfer of the International Player”, the whole truth and nothing but the truth is that Abia Warriors FC, Umuahia has not received the purported transfer fee and has therefore presented no certificate of transfer to Wydad Athletic in respect of the player in question.
“ We also wish to confirm that our player Chisom Chikatara has not received any flight ticket to Casablanca or any where for that matter from Wydad Board of Directors as claimed by the club’s website.
“We wish to state with all humility that the publications on Wydad website concerning player Chisom Chikatara is to say the least, untrue and very unfortunate.
“The Board of Abia Warriors FC therefore states unequivocally here that player Chisom Chikatara remains our property regardless of the baseless claims of Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca until otherwise stated by us”, Onuoha said.
