December 30, 2015 – President Muhammad Buhari today declared that there is no intelligence information on the whereabouts of the girls that were abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok.
They were abducted 14th April 2014 by terrorists called Boko Haram.

But in his first media chat, Buhari said there is no intelligence from Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad, all countries battling the terrorists. He said information available suggests their movements here and there but that there is neither information on the whereabouts nor of the well-being of the girls.

He said government will continue to intensify search for the girls and that government is open to negotiation with a credible leader of the group who can give information about the girls, where they are and their well-being.

The President who spoke passionately about security for needed investment said security remains his priority and diversification of Nigeria’s economy through agriculture and solid minerals.

He spoke of power, roads and other infrastructures like rails. On the Lagos-Kano, Lagos-Calabar rail, he revealed that while China agreed to pay 70 percent of their counterpart funding over a period, Nigeria he said has not been able to pay 30 percent of her share of the fund. This, he said informed the decision on the 2016 budget, skewed in favour of capital expenditure.
