August 8, 2015 – What will perhaps be the beginning of beauty queen in the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) has begun with the crowning of Mrs. Kemi Akintinlo by the National Association of Women Journalists(NAWOJ) as NAWOJ Lady.
She will reign for one year.
The lady who made her first appearance at the August edition of the monthly congress of the NUJ caused a stir with her peculiar form of dressing with a stylish crown, however not as outlandish as those used to crown beauty queens but she stood out of the crowd.
While presenting her to Lagos journalists, Chairman, NAWOJ, Lagos State, Mrs. Dupe Olaoye said her office will work with NAWOJ to ensure that it builds capacity for the union.
Commenting on the emergence of NAWOJ Lady, Chairman, Lagos State chapter of NUJ, Mr. Deji Elumoye said that it will perhaps inspire the emergence of Miss NUJ in the future.
Lady NAWOJ is a staff of Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy.
