January 9, 2015 – Jaycee Chan (32), son of Chinese movie star, Jackie Chan was today convicted of drug related offence in Beijing and sentenced to six months in prison.
He pleaded guilty to “hosting others to take drugs,” and consequently just fined 2,000 yuan about ($320), Dongcheng District People’s Court has said.
“I committed a crime and deserve to be punished. It doesn’t mean I have received mercy and forgiveness — I hope to earn them with my future actions,” he is quoted as saying by court official in a blog.
Jacee is an actor like his father. His prosecutor however told reporters that his cooperation with the police accounted for leniency.
He was arrested in Beijing in 2014 with a Taiwanese actor, as government continues to crackdown on celebrity drug offenders. They both tested positive to marijuana, while about 100 grams of drugs was found in Chan’s apartment.
