December 29, 2014 – Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola is currently meeting behind closed doors with ward chairmen in Lagos.
State House correspondents were not allowed to cover the meeting. There are about 245 wards in Lagos but Lagos State plans to create additional 400 wards to bring it about 645 wards.
It is not clear what the governor plans to discuss with the chairmen, but sources say it is unconnected with 2015 general election and that the governor called the meeting to help the chairmen strategize to enable the All Progressive Congress(APC) win the governorship in Lagos.
We gathered that the emergence of Mr. Jimi Agbaje, a reputable pharmacist as governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has sent cold shivers down the spine of the APC who is fielding former Accountant General of Lagos, Mr. Akinwunmi Agbaje.
