November 18, 2014 – Coach Safet Susic of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been sacked. He was sacked Monday following series of poor performance in the UEFA EURO 2016 qualifiers.
In a statement , Bosnia Football Federation said the coach has failed to meet up with goals set for him in the first part of the qualification.
“Qualifying for EURO 2016 is under question and the federation’s executive committee has unanimously decided to sack coach Safet Susic and his aides,” the federation said.
His performance became more infuriating when his side was defeated 3:0 by Israel last Sunday. But he was sacked against his wish to coach the team hoping to scale through the qualifiers.
“I said before this match against Israel, and I repeat, I don’t want to quit since I believe there is still a chance to go to the EUROs. It is a small one, but it exists,” Safet was quoted as saying.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is in Group B with Israel which leads the group with 2 points. Bosnia and Herzegovinia has just 2 points.
