October 31, 2014 – Not less than 20 people were today killed and several others injured when three bomb explosions rocked a local bus park in the early hours of Friday.
Spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Menzo Ezekiel told AFP that at least five people have been confirmed dead and 34 others injured.
An eye witnesses told reporters that the scene was littered with human flesh and blood and that three men suspected to be members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram entered the Gombe Line Station with three bags which they dropped in different places few minutes before the explosion.
Speaking on the development, Commissioner of Police, Gombe, Mr. Abdullahi Kudu said the explosion detonated around 9AM adding that the three suspects have been arrested. He said the suspects likely came in from Yobe, one of the operational bases of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
