‘Omo Baba Olowo’ crooner, David Adeleke better known as Davido is breaking new grounds. The young musician who announced few weeks back that he intends to go into oil business in a short while has been named Editor at Large by Y Magazine.
Ifeanyi Dike, Tinsel Actor and Supervising Editor of the magazine said he was so chosen because he is the coolest teen and most successful teenager in music.
“The choice was simple really. There’s no one in the market as successful, as hardworking, as the iconic star”, Dike said. For Contributing Editor of the magazine, Daphne Akatugba, Davido is a teenage trendsetter. Davido mirrors that X factor perfectly. We are excited to work with him over the next three months, and beyond.”
As editor-at-large, Davido is expected to work with the Y! team on each edition of the magazine and ensure that the concept aligns with trends, the culture and ideas that matter most for teenagers in Nigeria, and across the continent. He will hold the position for a maximum period of six months, renewable at end of term, the publishers of the magazine said.
The artiste who started singing at age 11 currently owns HKN label.
