NIGERIA: As part of its ongoing commitment to inspire, empower, and influence women on the global stage, Women in Management, Business & Public Service (WIMBIZ), a pan-African organisation dedicated to advancing women’s leadership, will host its 4th London Conference, under the theme “Meaningful Legacy: Power, Positioning, and Influence in a Changing World”.
The conference, scheduled to take place on Friday, 26 June 2026, at One Great George Street at The Institution of Civil Engineers, London, will convene distinguished global leaders, senior executives, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from across the UK, Europe, Africa, and the diaspora.
Confirmed speakers for the 2026 WIMBIZ London Conference include Julia Middleton, Founder of Common Purpose; Ibukun Awosika, Co-Founder of WIMBIZ and CEO of The Chair Centre; Sarah Fadoul Boulos, Founder & Chairperson, Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN); Julia Middleton, Founder, Common Purpose and Women Emerging; Will Anderson, MBE, Founder/Manager Partner, Oakbridge Advisory; Andrew Olowude, CTO, Xenet Ai; Niamh White, Founder of Hospital Rooms, among other notable voices, with additional speaker announcements to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
The event will explore how women in leadership can shape resilient institutions, drive sustainable growth, and build enduring impact amid geopolitical shifts, technological disruption, and evolving economic realities.
Speaking on the conference theme, WIMBIZ Executive Director, Omowunmi Akingbohungbe, noted that the concept of a ‘Meaningful Legacy’ resonates deeply in today’s rapidly evolving world. “The conference will explore how women can not only achieve professional success but also cultivate enduring influence that transcends generations and geographical boundaries”.
Akingbohungbe confirmed that the London conference serves as a pivotal platform for cross-cultural dialogue and strategic collaboration, building on WIMBIZ’s over two-decade legacy of inspiring, empowering and equipping women for leadership roles.
The 2026 edition comes at a crucial time, following recent reports such as the FTSE Women Leaders Review 2026, which revealed that while women now occupy 43% of FTSE 350 board positions, only 8% of those companies have female CEOs, highlighting the persistent gap between board representation and executive leadership.
Attendees can expect a keynote address, panel discussions, and interactive fireside conversations featuring prominent voices across business, public service, finance, international development, and other sectors.
The conference agenda is designed to foster actionable insights, strategic networking, and collaborative opportunities across industries and regions.
