There were indications at the weekend that the former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu endorsed his daughter, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo as the new Iyaloja General of Lagos for political reason.
Sources informed us that the kingmaker of Lagos State was already thinking ahead of 2015 and sees the appointment of her daughter as one of the right steps to wining Lagos for the emerging All Progressive Congress (APC). We were reliably informed that the next in hierarchy in the market leadership in Lagos State after the demise of the Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji were women who are all members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) hence it would amount to political suicide for the emerging APC to allow the leadership of the market women to slip into the hands of PDP.
We gathered that market women in the state constitute the largest number of voters in the state. However, we were told that the leadership of the market women were initially summoned to the home of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu in Lagos where they were informed that the late Abibatu had endorsed Folasade to step into her shoes. We gathered that the leadership of the market women agreed before she was formerly announced at mama Mogaji’s home at Sunday Adigun Street, Alausa on Wednesday.
