A northern political group known as Al-Uma Arewa Development Foundation has called on the Federal Government to do all it can to expose those sponsoring the dread Islamic sect, Boko Haram, which is responsible for insurgence in the North.
In a statement signed by leader of the group, Engr Ibrahim Ali, the group noted that both the Federal Government and the military is not doing enough to bring insurgency to the barest minimum and that it should either name the face behind the mask or be held responsible for invasion of the North.
According to him, the military which has been involved in a lot of peace mission abroad ought not to find it difficult tackling insurgency at home.
The group said it is not happy that insurgency has persisted despite partial state of emergency in the three northern states adding the situation was different when former President Olusegun Obasanjo declared state of emergency in Plateau State.
“We call on the Federal Government to expose whoever is involve and if she cannot, we hold Government responsible for the invasion of the North, which has made many destitute, jobless and orphans”, he said.
The group said it is against extension of emergency rule in the north since partial emergency rule has failed to resolve the problem.
