Prince Buruji Kashamu wins senatorial seat in Ogun State

May 26, 2015 – A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos today ordered officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to vacate the Ogun State home of the Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu.

Buruji has been under house arrest since Saturday by officials of the agency who are interested in bringing him to face extradition procedure in Lagos.

But Justice Ibrahim Bubba today ordered NDLEA and its officials out of the home Kashamu. The NDLEA had repeated argued that it put the Senator-elect under arrest after obtaining a warrant.

But Buruji had attributed his recent ordeal after winning the general election in his district to the former Head of State, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who has been at loggerhead with him.

Buruji is allegedly wanted by authorities in the United States for drug related offences. His matter comes up for hearing‎ 4th of June, 2015‎.
