    USA reports 65, 438 new cases as Coronavirus claims 12 lives in Nigeria

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 571 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 153,187. But out of the 153,187 confirmed cases,  129,943 patients have been treated and discharged, while  1,874 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 21, 370 active cases of Coronavirus, while 12 patients died in the last 24 hours.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-170, Ogun-65, FCT-45, Kwara-34, Abia-32, Enugu-32, Kano-25, Oyo-22, Ondo-21, Rivers-19, Kaduna-19, Benue-18, Bayelsa-12, Kebbi-12, Nasarawa-11, Akwa Ibom-9, Delta-8, Ekiti-6, Niger-5, Bauchi-3 and Imo-3, making a total of 571 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov 571 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-170, Ogun-65, FCT-45, Kwara-34, Abia-32, Enugu-32, Kano-25, Oyo-22, Ondo-21, Rivers-19, Kaduna-19, Benue-18, Bayelsa-12, Kebbi-12, Nasarawa-11, Akwa Ibom-9, Delta-8, Ekiti-6, Niger-5, Bauchi-3 and Imo-3 ; 153,187 confirmed; 129,943 discharged; 1,874 deaths”, NCDC has announced.

    There are now 111, 974, 905 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 481, 140 patients are no more, while 63, 201, 288 others have recovered and subsequently discharged. The world is now left with 46, 292, 477 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics uploaded by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, now reporting  28, 239,571 all time cases while 502, 005 others  have been killed by the virus,(65, 438 new and 1934 deaths*) followed by India which has documented 11, 016, 434 confirmations, 156, 463 patients  are already dead, while  10, 712, 665 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 147, 306 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 584 new and 77 deaths*)  and Brazil which has reported 10, 195, 160 confirmed cases, 247, 143 deaths and 9, 151,198 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 796, 819 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 986 new and 639 deaths*).

    The United Kingdom remains the 4th country worst hit, reporting 4, 146, 730  all time infections, 121, 536 deaths, while 11, 352 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4,013, 842 active cases of Coronavirus(8505 new and 549 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented  4, 142, 126 confirmed cases,  82, 666 deaths, while 3, 697, 787 patients are now hale and hearty, leaving Russia with 361, 673 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 679 new and 441 deaths*) and France which has reported 3, 689, 418  all time cases, 85, 195 patients are no more, while 258,299 others  have recovered, leaving France with 3, 345, 924  active cases of Coronavirus(20, 072 new and 432 deaths*).

    Spain remains the 7th country most hit, reporting 3, 161, 432 confirmed cases, 68, 079 deaths, while 150, 376 patients have been discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 942,  977 active cases of Coronavirus(7461 new and 443 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 2, 832, 162 confirmations,  96, 348 patients are no more, while 2, 347, 866 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Italy with 387, 948 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 299 new and 356 deaths*) and Turkey now reporting  2, 655,633 confirmed cases, 28, 213 patients are no more, while  2, 534, 996 others  have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 92, 424 active cases of Coronavirus(9107 new and 75 deaths*).

    Germany remains the  10th country most affected with 2, 405, 148  all time cases, 68, 525 deaths and 2, 213, 655 recoveries, leaving Germany with 122, 968 active cases of Coronavirus(5658 new and 446 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported 1, 505, 586 confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  49, 413 patients are no more, while 1, 419, 459 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 36, 714 active cases of Coronavirus(998 new and 263 deaths*).
