Update on COVID-19 at Omole Estate
LAGOS, Nigeria – Following our report on suspected case of COVID-19 at Omole Estate Phase II by Olowoira, officials of the Lagos State Government moved swiftly into the area to investigate the issue surrounding death of the patient.
According to Chairman of Omole Estate Phase II resident association, Mr. Bamidele Lanisa, a team of health officials from the Local Government and Lagos State Government have fully investigated the case.
Lanisa was of the view that the government officials concluded ” that the patient was not tested and thus Coronavirus is not confirmed”.
It is not clear if officials of the ministry of health carried out a post mortem on the deceased to come to that conclusion since a post mortern is required by law in Lagos state before any deceased can be buried based on the Coroner System Law which came into effect 18th May, 2007.
