    Coronavirus: India, UK lead new cases, Nigeria reports 216

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 216 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to  171, 111. But out of the 171, 111 confirmed cases,  164, 789 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 132 patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 4190 active cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC: 216 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria: Lagos – 108,  Akwa Ibom – 96,  Oyo – 4, Rivers – 3,  Edo – 2,  Ekiti – 1, Kano – 1, Osun -1: 171, 111 confirmed; 164, 789 discharged; 2, 132 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 194, 059, 999  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 157, 619 patients are already dead, while 3, 841, 754, 251 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 34, 440, 313 all time cases and 610, 885 deaths(39, 658 new cases and 165 deaths*), followed by India which has documented  31, 371, 901 confirmed cases, while 420, 551 patients have passed on(78, 839 new and 1081 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 19, 688, 663  confirmations, while 549, 924 patients are no more(25, 825 new and 1544 deaths*).

    France remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 6,056, 388 all time cases, while 111,806 patients  are already dead(40, 919 new and 28 deaths*), followed by Russia, which has reported 6, 049, 215  confirmations, while  151,352 patients have died(46, 912 new and 1556 deaths*) and the United Kingdom, which has documented 5, 723, 114 all time cases, while 129, 446 lives are already gone(60, 276 new and 116 deaths*).

    Turkey has come down as the 7th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 601, 608 confirmed cases, while 50,934 patients have passed on(26,611 new and 113 deaths*) followed by Argentina which has reported 4, 839,109  all time cases, while 103, 584 patients have kicked the bucket(11, 136 new and 225 deaths*) and Colombia, which has reported 4, 716, 798 cases, while 118, 538 lives have been wasted(11, 064 new and 350 deaths*).

    Italy has come up as the 10th country  most hit, reporting 4, 317, 415  confirmed cases, while 127, 949 patients have kicked the bucket(9880 new and 12 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 2, 377, 823  all time cases, while 69, 775 patients have lost their lives(21, 774 new and 700 deaths*).
