    LEKKI, Lagos, Nigeria – At least one person has been confirmed dead and one other injured when a building under construction collapsed at Nicon Estate, Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos.




    “Two adult male named Tasiu and Abdulahi were reportedly dead, while an adult male named Yakub sustained some injuries and had been taken to the hospital”, General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu said in a statement.

    According to him, the Agency received a report at about 11.40 am today Thursday 27th April, 2017 regarding partial collapse building at Nicon town Estate, Admiralty way Lekki.

    “Investigation conducted by the agency’s ERT at scene of the incident revealed that structure under the process of casting of the roof beam and parapet facial collapsed as mixed concrete, and the poker vibrator were seen at the site suddenly collapsed on some of the workers on site.

    “Two adult male named Tasiu and Abdulahi were reportedly dead, while an adult male named Yakub sustained some injuries and had been taken to the hospital”, he said.

    He said the agency Emergency Response Team had immediately cordoned off the building for further investigation to be carried out by the appropriate authorities.
