DONALD TRUMP has sensationally claimed that a massive international coalition of warships is heading to the Strait of Hormuz to break Iran’s “artificial” blockade and rescue the global economy from soaring oil prices.
In a series of fire-breathing social media posts today, the US President declared that despite the “total destruction” of Iran’s military capability, the vital shipping lane remains under threat from “decapitated” Iranian forces.
Taking to Truth Social, the President wrote: “Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe.”
In a move typical of his bold rhetoric, Trump insisted that the Iranian regime—already reeling from a massive US-Israeli air campaign that reportedly killed former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei earlier this month—is effectively finished as a fighting force.
”We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability,” Trump boasted.
However, he admitted that the narrow waterway remains a deathtrap, warning: “It’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile… no matter how badly defeated they are.”
The President specifically called out world powers including Britain, China, France, Japan, and South Korea to step up and join the American-led “armada.”
The ultimatum comes just 24 hours after the US launched what Trump described as “one of the most powerful bombing raids in history” on Kharg Island, Iran’s primary oil export hub.
While US Central Command says it spared oil infrastructure to avoid a global price meltdown, the shoreline remains a target.
Trump warned: “In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water.”
His goal for the mission was simple: “One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!”
The crisis in the Strait of Hormuz—a 21-mile wide chokepoint through which 20% of the world’s oil flows—has reached fever pitch following two weeks of high-intensity war.
The Blockade: Iran effectively closed the Strait on March 1, 2026, after a joint US-Israeli “decapitation strike” on Tehran. Since then, commercial traffic has collapsed by nearly 90%, sending oil prices spiraling toward $100 a barrel.
The Military Reality: While Trump claims “100%” destruction, military analysts warn that Iran’s “asymmetric” capabilities—sea mines, suicide drones, and hidden coastal missile batteries—remain a lethal threat to tankers.
Global Fallout: Supply chains are in chaos. Rerouting ships around Africa’s Cape of Good Hope has led to a 360% increase in freight diversions, threatening a global recession and causing shortages of everything from fuel to food.
